This paper demonstrates associations of blood levels of amino acids with the whole range of glycemia and risk for newly developed type 2 diabetes in a large population-based cohort.

According to the results, puberty timing has a subtle influence on adiposity and cardiometabolic traits. Main findings support the role of puberty timing as a marker, not a driver, of adiposity and cardiometabolic trait levels. These findings further suggest that interventions to prevent adult obesity and cardiometabolic disease should focus on childhood adiposity, not puberty timing.
